Christmas Bin Collections Dates for Leeds 2025

From Sunday 21 December to Sunday 4 January, bin collection days will change. Every household will receive a leaflet with the updated dates. You can also check your collection day at www.leeds.gov.uk/mybinday or by using the Leeds Bins app.

A table lists new collection days based on the usual weekly schedule: Monday collection: Sun 21 December and Mon 29 December Tuesday collection: Mon 22 December and Tues 30 December Wednesday collection: Tues 23 December and Wed 31 December Thursday collection: Wed 24 December and Fri 2 January Friday collection: Sat 27 December and Sat 3 January Saturday collection: Sun 28 December and Sun 4 January A note in red text reads: “No change to collection days from Monday 5 January onwards.” Additional information at the bottom says to put bins out by 6.30am and bring them in when emptied. Household Waste and Recycling Centres are only closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. The web address leeds.gov.uk/recycling is shown. Two illustrated bins, one green and one black, appear in the bottom corner.
Crews will be working throughout the Christmas period, including Sundays. Collections will only stop on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day. Normal days return from Monday 5 January.
♻️ Christmas always brings a lot of extra waste, so residents are encouraged to recycle as much as possible. Cardboard, plastic, tins, bottles and jars can all go in the green bin.
🏡 Household Waste and Recycling Centres are open through winter and only close on 25 December, 26 December and 1 January. More information is available at www.leeds.gov.uk/recycling
