Leeds Local Plan: Issues and Options (Regulation 18) Consultation Gildersome
We understand that the following development areas identified for Gildersome by Leeds City Council are subject to the developer’s proposals if they consider the sites to be viable, and that they will subsequently be subject to planning applications before any development can take place.

There are 9 potential sites within our Parish boundary which Leeds City Council have put forward in their plan for future development. Not all will, or need to be developed, to meet Leeds City Council’s target of up to 544 new homes in our area.
The sites are as follows:

LPS00303 – Land north of Highfield Drive/Harthill, Gildersome

LPS00710 – Leeds Valve Co Ltd, 23-25 Town End, Gildersome

LPS00037 – Former Ambulance Station, Wakefield Road
Estimated Draft Housing Capacity: Unknown
LPS00536 – Land North of 5 Bradford Road, Gildersome
Estimated Draft Housing Capacity: 32
LPS00898 – Land north of 11,11a,17,23 and 25 Bradford Road
Estimated Draft Housing Capacity: 97
LPS00747 – Land North of Bradford Road, Gildersome
Estimated Draft Housing Capacity: 357
LPS00744 – Land at Gilead House Farm, Gelderd Road, Gildersome

LPS00783 – Gelderd Road & Asquith Avenue, Gildersome

LPS00508 – Land to the North West of 123 Wakefield Road, Drighlington
Estimated Draft Housing Capacity:518 This site falls within the Drighlington boundary. It is known locally as the Brownhills. It has been identified for both housing and industrial development.
The Parish Council currently has no more detailed information than that published by Leeds City Council.
We will update you whenever we receive further information. We all have the right to object and submit our views on any location until Monday 15th September 2025.
Should you wish to do so individual letters/emails carry much more weight than signing a petition. You can of course do both.
